A lifelong organization for social justice and women's empowerment, we tirelessly worked to challenge societal norms that marginalize and disenfranchise women and girls’.

 

We have raised awareness about the plight of women and girls affected by violence and discrimination. We have implemented various programs and initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable women and girls, providing them with access to education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities, etc.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON WOMEN'S POLITICAL PARTICIPATION AND INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE. THEME: Women's Political Participation in Nigeria's Democracy: A Catalyst for Nigeria's Transformation. Nigeria's return to electoral democracy in 1999 marked a significant turning point, but women's engagement in the political process remains a challenge. Despite this, there has been a notable increase in women's political participation in recent years, with women occupying 6.7% of elective and appointive positions. Although this figure falls short of the global average of 22.5%, it signifies a step in the right direction. Empowering women to take on leadership roles is crucial for Nigeria's transformation. Feminist theories emphasize the importance of equal social, political, and economic rights for women and men.
