What We Do

What We Do

At Chinedum Francis Foundation Worldwide (CFF), our primary focus is to empower women and girls around the world and end all forms of violence and discrimination against them. .

We believe that every woman and girl deserves to live a life free from fear and oppression, and we work tirelessly to make this a reality.

Our programs and services are designed to provide education, support, and resources to women and girls who have been affected by gender-based violence or discrimination. This includes offering counseling and therapy, providing legal assistance, and advocating for policy changes that promote gender equality, etc.

In addition to our direct services and partnerships, we also engage in advocacy and policy work to promote gender equality and women's rights.

We work with policymakers and government officials to push for laws and policies that promote women's rights and protection, such as laws that criminalize domestic violence and child marriage, or policies that promote girls' education.

We also participate in public awareness campaigns and events that help to educate the public about gender-based violence and discrimination, and encourage them to take action.

By raising awareness and changing attitudes, we can help to create a more supportive and inclusive society for women and girls.

In order to achieve lasting change, we believe that it is also important to empower women and girls to become leaders and advocates in their own communities.

We offer training and leadership development programs for women and girls, as well as support networks and mentorship opportunities to help them build the skills and confidence they need to make a difference.

We also work to ensure that women and girls have access to the resources and support they need to start their own businesses and become financially independent.

By empowering women economically, we can help to break the cycle of poverty and vulnerability that often traps women and girls in situations of violence and discrimination.

We understand that ending violence and discrimination against women and girls is a complex and multifaceted challenge that requires a comprehensive approach.

That's why we take a holistic approach to our work, addressing the many interrelated issues that contribute to gender-based violence and discrimination.

For example, we work to address the root causes of violence and discrimination, such as patriarchal attitudes and cultural norms that value men over women or economic systems that disadvantage women and girls. By tackling these underlying issues, we can help to create a more just and equitable world for all.

In addition to our work on violence and discrimination, we also recognize the important role that education plays in empowering women and girls to achieve their full potential. That's why we offer programs and initiatives that promote girls' education, from primary school to higher education.

By investing in girls' education, we can help to break down barriers to opportunity and create a more just and equitable society.

Educated women are more likely to be financially independent, to make healthy choices for themselves and their families, and to be engaged in civic life. They are also more likely to demand equal rights and opportunities for themselves and other women.

In many parts of the world, girls face significant barriers to accessing education, including lack of resources, cultural norms that prioritize boys' education over girls', and poverty. These barriers can lead to lower levels of education for girls and perpetuate a cycle of poverty and disadvantage.

To address these barriers, we work with communities and families to change attitudes and behaviors towards girls' education, and we provide financial support to girls who may otherwise be unable to afford school fees or materials.

We also work to ensure that girls have safe and supportive learning environments, free from violence and discrimination.

Beyond education, we also recognize the importance of reproductive health and family planning services in empowering women and girls to make informed choices about their bodies and their lives.

Access to family planning services is not only a human right, but also an effective way to improve the lives of women and girls. By providing access to contraception and other reproductive health services, we can help to prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce maternal mortality and morbidity, and improve girls' educational and economic opportunities.

We work to ensure that women and girls have access to high-quality, affordable reproductive health services, and we advocate for policies that promote reproductive health and rights.

One important aspect of our work on reproductive health is our commitment to ending child marriage. Child marriage is a harmful practice that denies girls their rights to education, health, and autonomy, and perpetuates a cycle of poverty and disadvantage.

By working with communities to change attitudes towards child marriage, providing education and support to girls at risk, and advocating for laws and policies that protect girls from child marriage, we can help to end this harmful practice and create a brighter future for girls around the world.

We also recognize that the fight for gender equality is closely intertwined with the fight against climate change and environmental degradation.

Women and girls are often disproportionately affected by the impacts of climate change, such as food insecurity, natural disasters, and increased vulnerability to violence and exploitation.

To address these issues, we work with communities to build resilience and adapt to the impacts of climate change, and we support women and girls to become leaders in environmental activism and climate justice movements..

We also recognize the important role that women play in sustainable development, such as in agriculture, food security, and land management.

One area where we focus our efforts is on climate finance, which refers to the financing of projects and programs that promote climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Women and girls are often excluded from decision-making processes and benefits related to climate finance, which can limit their ability to contribute to and benefit from climate change solutions.

To address this issue, we work with national and international organizations, governments, and private sector partners to promote gender-responsive climate finance, which ensures that women and girls are included and benefit from climate change investments.

In addition to our work on climate finance, we also recognize the importance of renewable energy in addressing both climate change and gender equality.

Access to clean and affordable energy can have a transformative effect on the lives of women and girls, reducing their vulnerability to climate change, improving their health and wellbeing, and increasing their economic opportunities.

We support women and girls to become leaders in renewable energy projects, such as solar energy and clean cooking technologies, which can help to reduce dependence on unsustainable energy sources and create new economic opportunities.

Another area where we focus our efforts is on women's leadership and decision-making. Despite the important role that women play in promoting gender equality and sustainable development, they are often underrepresented in decision-making positions, both in the public and private sectors.

To address this issue, we work to build the capacity of women leaders, support women's political participation, and advocate for laws and policies that promote gender equality in decision-making.

By promoting women's leadership and decision-making, we can create more inclusive and effective policies and programs that benefit women and girls, as well as entire communities.

Finally, we recognize the importance of supporting women's and girls' human rights and gender justice movements worldwide. These movements are powerful agents for change, challenging the systemic barriers that prevent women and girls from realizing their full potential.

We provide support and resources to women's and girls' rights organizations, including legal assistance, research and advocacy, and capacity-building.

By amplifying the voices and leadership of women and girls, we can create a more just and equal world for all.

In summary, our work is guided by a deep commitment to promoting women's and girls' rights and empowerment.

We recognize that achieving gender equality requires a holistic approach that addresses the multiple and interrelated challenges faced by women and girls.

We will continue to work tirelessly to build a world where women and girls are respected, valued, and have equal opportunities to thrive.
